This website provides access to data used in the Multi-Criteria Analysis Shell for Spatial Decision Support (MCAS-S) software tool.
MCAS-S Software Tool
The Multi-Criteria Analysis Shell for Spatial Decision Support (MCAS-S) is a software tool developed by the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences that enables multi-criteria analysis (MCA) using spatial data. It is a powerful, easy-to-use and flexible decision-support tool that promotes:
- framework for assessing options
- common metric for classifying, ranking and weighting of the data
- tools to compare, combine and explore spatial data
- live-update of alternative scenarios and trade-offs.
The most recent version of the tool (v3.1) can be downloaded from here. Development of the tool is funded through the MCAS-S Development Partnership - members include Barry Consulting, New South Wales Office of Environment and Heritage, the National Environmental Research Plan Landscapes and Policy Hub, Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network and the Australian Collaborative Land Use and Management Program.

From the Data menu, explore and download individual supplementary layers, or download the entire datapack.
Grid Garage
The Grid Garage ArcGIS Toolbox allows users to process GIS data into a standard, spatially aligned format. This format is required by most, grid or raster, spatial modelling tools such as the Multi-criteria Analysis Shell for Spatial Decision Support (MCAS-S). Developed by NSW Office Environment and Heritage (OEH).
